Academics

Curriculum

Our Lady of Guadalupe School provides a comprehensive TK-8 curriculum as stipulated by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and according to California State Standards in the following core subjects: Religion, Math, English Language Arts (reading, writing, grammar, spelling and vocabulary), Social Studies, Science, and Physical Education. Art is incorporated across the curriculum.

Our school’s academic program builds a strong foundation of basic skills – in core subjects such as mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies – while recognizing individual differences and learning styles. Religion classes and real-world experiences, such as community service projects and liturgical worship, develop in our students a true sense of a faith community. Students at our school are encouraged to discover the joys of creative expression – through art, music, and physical education. Catholic values, morals, and character formation are integrated in every aspect of our curriculum, which extends through every aspect of our daily life.

Title 1 services provided through LAUSD, help students in the area of Reading & Math. Students who need extra assistance attend Title 1 classes during the school day with a Reading & Math specialist in small groups or in some cases individualized attention.

Our Lady of Guadalupe School is accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
